Sustainable Logistics, Resource Conservation: Truck tarps with recycled base fabrics reduce CO₂ emissions and save resources while maintaining performance.

In the pursuit of environmentally friendly solutions for the transportation industry, the Heytex Group presents its latest collection of truck and trailer tarps made from recycled PET bottles. These innovative tarps not only offer an impressive array of colors for the road but also signify sustainable practices in logistics.

The materials from the HEYcargo^® range are characterized by their durable and colorfast nature. The tarps impress with their particularly smooth high-gloss surface, making them excellent for printing and branding. Thanks to their excellent flatness and easy weldability (high frequency, hot air, heat wedge), they offer optimal performance in practice.

An outstanding feature of this collection is the use of recycled yarns as raw material for fabric production. By using recycled PET bottles, the energy consumption during yarn production is minimized by approximately 75%, resulting in a significant reduction in CO₂ emissions.

The PET bottles, which would typically lead to the release of greenhouse gases and other environmentally harmful chemicals in landfills, are instead collected according to the Global Recycling Standard 4.0 and spun into new polyester yarns. This not only avoids waste but also greatly reduces the environmental impact of these bottles.

“1 m² of our vivatex vectaplan 8/8  material in 250 cm width contains carrier fabric made from 16 100% recycled post-consumer PET bottles, which equals approximately 2600 PET bottles for a roll of material that doesn’t end up in the landfill,” explains Daniel Wolf, Business Center Manager at HEYcargo^®.

The HEYcargo^® collection not only sets new standards in sustainability but also offers an extensive RAL color palette that is available for immediate delivery from stock. The tarps exhibit excellent properties such as good flatness, easy weldability (high frequency, hot air, heat wedge), low smoke and odor development, and easy-to-clean high-gloss finish. Brilliant, crease-resistant “silver” completes the impressive HEYcargo^® collection.
