Success Story: The world’s largest mobile work of art in Essen: A sustainable sign for democracy
The Global Gate is on the road again and is making a stop in Essen! After stops in Frankfurt, Hamburg and Dubai, the fourth edition of this unique work of art now impresses on the Zollverein site, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. With its impressive dimensions – 24 meters wide, 21 meters high, 6 meters deep – and built from 37 freight containers, the artwork by Marcus Schäfer and the artist Super*me sends out a strong signal for democracy.
Once again, the choice of material is particularly noteworthy: the artist has applied his art to ecotex® frontlit B1, our sustainable, textile alternative to conventional outdoor PVC-banners. The 1,000 square meter artwork was printed by our customer Kürsten und Lechner, who impresses with the highest precision and print quality. This combination of innovative material and artistic vision makes the Global Gate not only aesthetically pleasing, but also ecologically forward-looking.
With the support of the Zollverein Foundation and the Zollverein Digital Campus, the Global Gate will be a visible symbol of freedom, unity and democratic values until March 30, 2025.
