2. Health Day in Bramsche – Focus on Cardiovascular health
The 2nd Health Day for our employees took place yesterday in Bramsche, this time focusing on the topic of cardiovascular health. After last year’s successful kick-off, which focused on occupational safety and healthy eating, this year we wanted to further raise awareness of heart health and prevention.
One particular highlight: for the first time, we held a DKMS typing campaign to recruit potential stem cell donors. This was a great success and was used by many employees to make an important contribution.
The aim of the event was to actively raise awareness of preventive healthcare among our workforce and provide them with concrete measures for their everyday lives. The participation rate was once again impressive – a clear sign that health awareness is a top priority in our company!
A small excerpt from the offer, which could only take place with the support of various partners and health insurance companies:
- Body Check: employees had the opportunity to undergo a comprehensive health analysis to determine their current physical condition.
- Carotid screening: This examination of the carotid artery was used to detect early signs of possible arteriosclerosis and cardiovascular disease.
- Smoothie bike: Participants were able to pedal their own healthy smoothies on a smoothie bike – a fun way to combine a healthy diet with exercise.
- Blood pressure checks: Blood pressure measurements were a key part of the event to identify the risk of high blood pressure at an early stage.
- First aid and cardiovascular workshops: In-person workshops allowed participants to learn immediate life-saving measures to be prepared in the event of a cardiovascular emergency.
- Hearing and vision tests: These tests enabled participants to check their sensory perception and identify any impairments.
- Physiotherapy advice: Experts provided tips and exercises to prevent back pain and tension and promote healthy posture in everyday life.
At the end of the day, a food truck offered healthy, vegetarian wraps, which were very popular. This underlined the motto of the day – “Heart health starts in everyday life” – in culinary terms too.
Overall, the Health Day was a complete success, raising awareness not only of heart health, but also of prevention and healthy lifestyles among our workforce. A big thank you to our organizing team!
